Firstly, I'm in Australia and got the posts from a place called Burlows who purchase them from Permapoles (who don't sell to the public, wholesale only).

Secondly, posts cost $320AU delivered, rapid set concrete (12 bags) and all fittings for the shade sail were ~$170. Only other cost was some cider and meat to feed my mate and dad for helping.

I've got a Hennessy Hammock with 1" tree straps, so I'll be able to use those and not have to put any permanent fixtures in it, except right at the top for the shade sail that will be going up next weekend :)

I got 3, 4.2 metre (13.77 feet), 200-225mm (7.87-8.85 inch) CCA treated pine posts. Dug 3, 1.3 metre (4.26 feet) holes. Put some blue metal stone down the holes. Put in the posts, put in a heap of rapid set concrete and BAM, DIY trees.

I'm going to leave them a week before I hang from them and will post an update next weekend

You can come to Perth, Western Australia and babysit my 7 month old daughter so my wife and I can go out for dinner together alone for the first time in 7 months :)

I'm sure my wife won't mind a complete stranger from another country looking after our girl.

In all seriousness though, there is a 2 day, 40 mile hike I attempted with a friend last year but had to abort half way through because my friend hurt himself. It's in the Avon Valley in Western Australia, following a river and it's awesome.

Check out the International Beer Shop on McCourt Street in Leederville / Subiaco area. They stock a HEAP of great beers and ciders. Last I heard (a couple of days ago) they had some ciders on tap in their growler dispenser.
