How bots silence Ron Paul critics and threaten the democracy of Reddit. by robotevilin politics

[–]trendzetter -1 points0 points ago

I have been thinking this thing for a while. I wonder if there is something posted about this yet. The media and military propaganda used to be investigated and described by people like chomsky. Anyone took on the burden yet of exposing reddit manipulation?

EDIT: have been reading your link and it answers my question partially. Particular cases are being investigated but it seems to be difficult to generalize about the extend and the influence of manipulation for the moment.

It is better than you would expect from the title.

MSM?

I wonder whether the true reason for Advance inc to run reddit is profit from ads or leasing the database to the pentagon for political profiling and designing and experimenting with their mass manipulation activities.

EDIT: MSM=MainStream Media?

/r/PoliticalModeration is denied sidebar listing in /r/politics despite meeting requirements due to breaking 'the official "No Go1dfish" rule' by go1dfishin PoliticalModeration

Censorship. If it doesn't fit the mainstream views you get removed and if you complain too much it will get you banned.

Honestly, since I have been banned I have started to realize that a selection of some of the most interesting posts is delivered automatically to /r/moderationlog

Thanks for explaining some of the technicalities. I'm not so versed in the inner workings of reddit. I really appreciate your work.

Wouldn't it be nice if the moderationlog mentions the moderator doing the removing?

DR Congo troops shell rebel bases by annoymindin worldnews

[–]trendzetter -3 points-2 points ago

It does not. They do not rise against the government. If those war-lords fit your definition of rebel than bank-robbers do too.

Seems like you are suffering from blind hatred, dogmatism and vote-stuffing. You are most likely a trotskist, my guess is glparramatta.

dictatorship of the proletariat != workers power != workers control

DR Congo troops shell rebel bases by annoymindin worldnews

[–]trendzetter -3 points-2 points ago

Interesting article, calling them "rebels" and "dissidents" seems bizarre. Those armies are controlled by war-lords. They do not fight for change but to control a patch of the territory in order to extract natural wealth. Seems like Al-Jazeera might be involved in a secret agenda.

In the scientific socialism of Marx the essence comes down to dictatorship of the proletariat and the revolutionary transformation of society. Dictatorship of the proletariat can take many forms aside from direct workers control (which is also one of the paths Venezuelan revolutionaries are experimenting with). It is taking the general power-balance in society into account. Obviously closing yourself off from anything that is actually being tried is not going to get you anywhere.

Your strong rejection based on dogma's seems to be a bit sectarian.

Franรงois Hollande cuts his own salary and his ministers' by 30% by SkypeMeSlowlyin worldpolitics

[–]trendzetter -2 points-1 points ago

Bullshit, it is a symbolic action. From here they will go on end cut the common peoples wages. That is why the "socialist party" is called "socialist" and not socialist. Essentially they are just as capitalist and working for the rich as Sarko or Merkel. It is like the 2 party system in the US. 2 sides of the same coin. Whatever you vote only the packaging of the policies changes.

We should not cut salaries but profits. Companies are paying nearly nothing in taxes.

Can it be that he responded to the assertions of Capriles printed in your post?

Asked during a visit to Colombia this week about his failure to climb in the polls, Capriles challenged his audience to remember that day and pledged that he would soon be back visiting as president of Venezuela.

His team is questioning the accuracy of polls.

On a side note, I think if you want to discuss media coverage itself rather than the events it is better to go into a specialized reddit such as /r/socialism or /r/media rather than worldnews. There is too much propaganda and vote-stuffing going on. It's all a fight about the headlines in worldnews. Don't expect a reasonable discussion about journalism.
