What's the best deep dish pizza near McCormick Place? (I'll be in town in October) by PrintErrorin chicago

[–]thegiggler 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, I actually prefer it to the deep dish. I'm pretty partial to Rosangela's or Nick & Vito's down south.

I think the trick at both places is to get them well done. Especially at N&V's to get it a little less greasy.

From what I remember, Pizanos was started by someone in the Malnati family, and they are rather similar. If you can do a little travel, go check out Pequod's.

Chicago also has some delicious (relatively) thin crust. You're not too far from some great places on the near south side. You can check around for places in Bridgeport, but again, you'd need to find a way to get there.

I've done a significant amount of testing on this thing. I can assure you there can be a lot of sitting around waiting for something to break.

There are visual checks, but composites are typically checked using a type of handheld sonar.

One of the advantages of composites is that they are much less susceptible to fatigue.

Boeing does all hiring through their online website. Quite a few interns are hired each year, and they also have co-ops.

The other big variable here is fatigue stress. Imagine bending a paper clip, it won't break, but if you bend it back and forth enough times, it will eventually snap. Same thing happens on airplanes, and composites are less susceptible (some erroneously claim entirely) to it than metal.

I work in a more centralized role at Boeing, and we use quite a bit of Abaqus and would be useful for people looking for a skill to set them apart.
