I kind of agree.. the whole funding of entitlements is a serious grey area and it's either completely funded right now, or running a big deficit depending on who you believe. You might read this .. as even the official statements are that the funds are being depleted at an even greater rate than was expected.

Much of the current "fund" is really just IOUs since much of the money collected for these entitlements has been systematically robbed by Congress to pay for wars. As we begin tapping deeper into those funds the IOUs have to be paid back from somewhere.. and that's the crux of the issue.

Yes. Electronic voting machines simply are not reliable measures of what the voters intend. It's really sad, but I can't even tell people that their vote really makes a difference anymore.

I'll also add that when people like you reach a tipping point in numbers then a lot of those people who don't agree with you will join you. Many of them don't want to be in the minority and right now you are the minority. When they (the establishment, neoconservatives, etc) are in the minority then the "joiners" will abandon them and join your group. So show up to the regular monthly meetings after November, suggest speakers who will talk about Constitutional issues, get your friends to go, and clap like hell.

... there's a HUGE amount of damage control and spin in this article and it's coming directly from the GOP. That should tell you that they are concerned. The intent of this article is to discredit the Massie win as being funded by one rich person, when in reality there were thousands of donors to the PAC and far more donors to the Massie campaign from within Kentucky.

It's curious that the conservative media uses this sort of thing as evidence of weakness in the Obama campaign, yet when Romney was having campaign stops with 200 - 300 people and Paul was having campaign stops with 2,000 - 3,000 people the "liberal" media was silent on it. example from Michigan and Louisiana.

It shows the rules are bullshit. Those delegates weren't bound to "the presumptive nominee". They were bound to specific candidates based on the results of the primaries and caucuses. Lots of people broke the rules and nobody was punished. Any call for punishing people for breaking those same rules is standing on very shaky ground.

Go volunteer to help the party, but not help campaign for Romney. Seriously. One of the biggest reasons the "old guard" in the GOP is so reluctant to allow Paul supporters to have leadership positions is because they just showed up and expected to have power without doing any work.

If you're a familiar face from you helping them with other elections (putting out signs, picking them back up, raising money, etc) and they know that you're committed to the "cause" then they're FAR more likely to accept you into the tent.

Some people in my local and state GOP detest Paul, and they know I support him, but they voted for me to be in a leadership position anyway.

If you're going to help return the Republican party back to some sort of sanity then you have to think long term. Think about 2014, 2016, and beyond. How do you get yourself into a position where YOU can make a difference for those elections?
