Every time I plug my Logitech speakers into the wall they play gospel music by rainbowsunshine1in electronics

[–]spainguy 4 points5 points ago

Sounds like the input stage is rectifying a AM radio signal, like an an untuned crystal set,

Something like these might work

If they don't you will need to get inside the speakers and put an RF filter in the circuit(s), (not recomended for newbies)

Power ratings of power supplies and amplifiers? by petematein electronics

[–]spainguy 2 points3 points ago

How is the peak rating defined?

Usually Watts at a specific distortion + marketing factor

500W momentarily

It's a can of worms measurement, dependent on the storage capacitors in the ( linear) power supply.

Basically the only real rating is true RMS

No, badly built, you can hear a person fart next door, thermally crap, built to the lowest possible standards.

I was lucky and managed to sell mine.

Radio controlled clock jammer by duded1000in electronics

[–]spainguy 5 points6 points ago

That's probably WWV, so you would have to simulate the signal, but the clock probably only update a couple of times a day. Jamming the WWV signal could be highly expensive for other people in your vicinity that use it,

[–]spainguy 1 point2 points ago

The ink they use for the marking is electropositive and would serious ESR problems if it was used on the negative terminals

Could use some advice regarding signal reflection. by madprgmrin ECE

[–]spainguy 2 points3 points ago

I had a similar SPI problem, to 7 segment LED drivers, 80 leds at 30mA each, (max 2.4Amps) The problem was ground bounce when the /OE line changed, to PWM the STP16cps05. Termination of the cables didn't help.

The cure was to add 22uF across each LED display.

A scope is essential for this sort of problem
