Did Panzer Dragoon Saga not get translated to English? I thought it was released in the US early in 1998.

Now you got me thinking. Final Fantasy VII proved only months before that that the market was ripe for a storm of JRPGs. I wonder, if Saturn had more other games previously to get a larger installed userbase in the US, if Panzer Dragoon Saga could have ridden the wave that FFVII took instead. Can you imagine how much different gaming would be if the Saturn was the standout console of that generation, and then the Dreamcast became the best selling console ever?

I still want the ultimate 2D gaming machine. :(

When I was a kid and imagined the future of gaming, I always dreamed of how fantastic 2D games could become. 3D is great, but I still want what I dreamed of as a kid. The indie market (and a few standouts from big devs like Rayman Origins and Sonic Generations) is doing an admirable job of trying to satisfy that urge, but I want more.

Is that how veins work? I've found bits of every kind of ore so far, but never more than 4 or so blocks in one place. I guess I've never seen a vein before.

Meh, I doubt I'll ever own a house with a room large enough for the difference to really matter.

It also depends on where you're looking for a job. Rutgers is in the northeast, the are of the country most saturated with universities, and with crazy high population density over a large area as well. Your flexibility in location will go a long ways towards determining how hard it is for you to find a job. My district manager told me that he will most likely have a position in the district I'm in when I graduate, if I want it. He said that while that isn't a certainty, if I'm willing to relocate he can absolutely guarantee me a job, as even with the huge influx of pharmacists in general there are still areas where they are projecting a labor shortage for at least the next 4-5 years.

I was just as surprised as you. Turns out they are actually still making new stuff. I'll be damned.

I start pharmacy school in August, and have talked to a bunch of new PharmDs who graduated this year. None of them know of any classmate that doesn't have a job, except those who whose a residency instead. And this is in Upstate NY, with 3 pharmacy schools within 100 miles, LECOM to the south, Albany to the east and several more in NYC.

If you aren't terrible at pharmacy and networking, pharmacy is still not a bad field at all. I can't guarantee it will still be that way in 4 years, but even where I am the job prospects still look pretty good.

Also consider that a lot of the huge proportion of women in the field lately chose pharmacy as a good family career, since it's something where it's not too hard to cut back to part-time when you want to have kids. Wait for all of them to start popping out babies and cutting hours and there will be even more openings. My area, at least for my chain, is already seeing this. Also, a lot of the older pharmacists are literally just dying off left and right, creating even more openings.

I know Rite Aid gives great top 200 flashcards to their tech trainees to help them prepare for certification. It's a longshot, but you could see if a local Rite Aid has a set to spare (either just sitting in the store, or if a tech there still has theirs). If the pharmacist is easygoing, he may even order them for you if you pay for them (probably less than $10).

Try Diablo 1, it's fantastic. You'll probably need to pirate it, as it isn't sold anywhere (even online) anymore, and you might have trouble tracking down a working CD.

Why not take random chunks and use a utility to replace some existing mineral veins with the new ore? For example, in 10% of chunks, replace all iron with the new ore, or something along those lines.

I played through it and thought it was quite fun. The building of concepts was fluid (harhar) and I was left looking forward to more advanced levels. The graphics are sufficient to distinguish items that need to be distinguished, but I do wish the "iron" looked more like iron and less like blocks of wood.

In that case, the state law is the main failure here. A nurse should be able to administer medicine to a student if there is clear need and the prescription label clearly states that it is a current medication prescribed by a doctor and how it is to be taken. If she can't do that, then the law has removed her ability to do her job.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten this to work properly with an OnLive controller, or even a tethered Wiimote with classic controller? With the OnLive controller it sort of works, but the game pans the camera wildly until I squeeze the analog triggers just the right amount, at which point it runs perfectly fine until I lose control of my character and regain it, then I have to reset the damn camera again.

Two issues: census/directory and suburban sprawl by dvanclevin Lazuli

[–]shadow1515 0 points1 point ago

I think one thing that would help would be to draw definite city limits. This need not be an actual wall (though the visual cue would be more forceful); we could simply build an extra-wide road around the edge of the city proper. Any development outside these limits would have to be preceded by a planned development, with roads installed and plots clearly marked before anyone can actually begin construction.

For example, one good place to start would be to make a road along the edge of the desert to the south of the city. It could start at the river and run just south of the portal and arena; further development into the desert would require laying out new roads and plots. This is also a good spot for a road because it can mark a shift in aesthetics between the main city and any future desert suburbs. The roads in the city look great, but they probably wouldn't in the desert; having a clear boundary would mark a good spot to begin building some new style of road in the desert.

That sounds startlingly like my life. You're broke and have nothing going for you, but you go on living because it has to get better eventually, right? You try to make do with what you have, then BOOM. Dead.

...I mean, I obviously didn't die in a freak accident yet, but I won't be the least bit surprised when it happens.
