North Korea ready to carry out nuclear test at any moment by mepperin worldnews

[–]rindindin 2 points3 points ago

Everyone's just at the edge of their seat for this one.

Sometimes I thank South Korea for holding their mace flailing cousin from the North at their borders. They're not an actual plausible threat, but I'd think to hate how things would go if the North was just left to its own device; besides starving to death that is.

One guy's story about his mother's WOW addiction by --the--rust--belt--in Games

[–]rindindin 6 points7 points ago

she simultaneously played endless hours of the MMORPG and ruined what could have been a fairly normal home and family life for me.

I stopped right there (I did finish it eventually). First paragraph in, and he's already allocating blame.

It sounds like he's trying to throw all the blame and problems that he's having onto his mom who's "always playing video games". Yeah well, if she had something meaningful to do, I'm sure she would've stepped away from her video games. Maybe he should've made some meaningful attempt to bring her out of the virtual world, that would've been good. But no, it sounded like he was too busy playing his own beloved RPG games.

It's like people that have no self control, paired with people that have no idea what the hell is going on, suddenly gets to load off the blame to Blizzard for creating a good (thus addictive) game. I may not like the 15/month thing, but hey, you know what, if it's a good game, why the hell not support the expensive server maintenance that Blizzard has to do? There's also a lot to argue for, like 15/month and spend less else where etc. this guy way over simplified things.

If you have ever lived with an abusive parent, a wild and uncouth roommate, or even a troublesome pet, then you know somewhat of what I went through. You're trapped in a house with something venomous, something poisoning your personal ecosystem that you can do little about.

That's bullshit. He admits that he was "figuring out why he cried during FFX" while all this happened; why not go out and play some basket ball, or bike, or swim, or something, you know, not inside the house.

The more I read into this guy's writing, the more I think he's just looking for attention (something his mother neglected to give him apparently), and just wants to be another attention craving whore on the internet.

Thanks to the brilliant people at destructoid, he's got it.

As a warning: don't go into the comment sections.

Looking for a sushi rice recipe that incorporates mayonnaise. by biggreenfanin Cooking

[–]rindindin 0 points1 point ago

This isn't a 100% accurate portrayal of what i was talking about, but it sort of goes along the same line. You have the piece of smoked salmon in the roll, then drizzled or dabbed on top like this.

Neither of the images are what I'm talking about, but together they sort of are. Dabbing the mayo instead of drizzling it on seems to be the most common form from my experience.

[–]rindindin 0 points1 point ago

Hm, this is a really tough one. I know of a recipe where you put smoked salmon in the middle in place of raw fish, then you put a dab of Mayo ontop of the smoked salmon. I don't know, that's a really unique thing.

Enough Of Single-Player MMOs by xmidoin Games

[–]rindindin 1 point2 points ago

The success of WoW has shown companies what potentially would make that much money, but it never really does work out that way. Nothing, I don't think, will come to the popularity and success of WoW. It was the first of its kind, it was bumpy to start, but things smoothed out. I just haven't see this being reproduced else where, and I'm not sure if it ever will be.

If game companies really want to make money, I think they should just let games roll out. I mean, I would've bought a single player SW:TOR any day and support it via DLCs (meaningful DLCs, not armour for my Lightsabre or some bullocks). Now TOR just looks like a barely limping creature, trying to get back up after falling down repeatedly. Really sad.
