Over 100K atheists on reddit, and Hitch only has 35K votes??? I guess no one thinks Time is worth their vote?

KUFO off the air by thumper242in oregon

I can't say I'm surprised. I like my rock as much as the next guy, but I just couldn't listen to KUFO for more than about an hour without wanting to change the station. I don't know precisely what it was, but it was offputting.

Since /r/atheism was recently voted "least favorite sub-reddit", perhaps we should take a moment for self-analysis. Hell, it can't hurt. by mafooin atheism

I think the problem here is not that we're the "least favorite" subreddit - seems like a positive in my book. That means, to me, that we're having an influence. I'm all for a reduction in the number facebook screencaps and shitty cartoons though.

Perhaps not his usual topic, but this is his reddit, after all...

I think the point is to avoid telling them until you set out on the highway, and not when you've just pulled into the gas station to fill up and pick up snacks.

So what you're saying is not that he should tell them he's still christian, but explain to them that he still values most of the same things they do, just not the supernatural piece. That makes a little bit more sense to me (and hopefully the OP as well).

I guess I just don't understand how he could be Christian without actually being Christian...

+1 for heading up the chain (Principle/Admin/Police/Congressman).

If he confronts you again, just walk away again. He's clearly not worth your time and effort if he's singling out (no offense intended here) a young person with less education and less capacity for scientific self defense.

Christopher Hitchens' Health is Failing. Why Don't We All Write Him a Letter Thanking Him for What His Work Means to Us Before it's Too Late? : atheism by platinumwolfin ChristopherHitchens

I thought it would be appropriate to repost this here, seeing as the particular emphasis is Hitch.

Then it may be that the author of that post had switched the words accidentally.

I think you are confused. The usual correlation, I believe, is that an OMNISCIENT deity negates free will - this being because an omniscient being knows what will happen in the future, which means that somehow those choices have already been made, or are so predictable that the exercise of free will is an absurdity.

Hey /r/atheism. Can anyone give a reason actually for atheism, rather than against religion? by Pizzaman411in atheism

An actual reason to be an atheist? Because it's the default position until proven otherwise.
