Kabuto hasn't escaped. I thought he did at first but the last page clearly shows him still trapped. I agree that it's weird they keep talking about Izanagi and Izanami like it's just another eye technique. Going blind seems much worse than simply correcting a mistake or teaching someone a lesson. Unless they transplanted eyes on a regular basis or really didn't give a fuck, these are final techniques for an Uchiha and to me, would only be used in dire situations.

Seriously stuck in FFXIII-2, chapter 3. Help, anyone? by Endymion86in FinalFantasy

[–]nolanmcclain 0 points1 point ago

I think your problem is quitting inside the void beyond. Since you can't get there from the historia crux, you have to finish the whole sequence until you return to the historia crux. Where you're at, all you have to do is go to the void beyond and since you can't do anything yet except get a few items, go back through the rift to get back to the historia crux and unlock your next area hopefully. I know it sucks but replaying sunleth to get back to the void beyond may be the only option.

So out of complete nostalgia... by MagiCraftin eureka7ao

[–]nolanmcclain 2 points3 points ago

I'm right there with ya. Eureka Seven is unquestionably my favorite anime. Bones really knows how to write a good story. Full Metal Alchemist is probably a close second in my favorites list. AO is definitely not a disappointment in any way but I would also like to get some kind of info on Eureka or Renton. I think a lot of people feel this way because AO was suppose to be a direct sequel E7 but so far it seems like a reboot. Ao is eerily similar to Renton in his leaving home to join an elite fighting group thinking he'd be a real help but finds he has a lot to learn. But, leave it Bones to have a really awesome and confusing story line that is all resolved in the last few episodes of the series. I have high hopes for this series and really hope they tell us something about Renton and Eureka! As for as the manga goes, I read it on mangareader but since that has ceased to work here in the US I would use MangaInn for all your Eureka Seven manga needs. Enjoy!

Since the beginning of the series I always wondered why a ninja would wear a bright orange jumpsuit. I didn't make the connection until I read the chapter about his mom. Yellow flash of the leaf + Red fiery habenero = an orange Naruto. Mind was blown.

Indeed it does seem that way. I am so very very glad you asked and will do what I can.

  • Extremely important! If the animal is stressed, it won't eat and therefore won't grow. If a hen is stressed, she won't lay as many eggs. (This is my main argument when it comes to chickens in battery cages. If that hen gave a single fuck about being in a confined space, her production would decrease and what good is that to a farmer?) Not only is stress bad for growth and production, but also right before harvesting. Stress hormones lower the pH of the muscles from their normal 7.4 and causes a bunch of meat quality problems. If you want to learn more, Purdue University explains it quite well. For the subject of cannibalism, stress isn't so much an issue as animal welfare is. If a little pain from a beak-trim or tail dock can prevent and animal from getting there anus eaten out, farmers will do it.

  • YES YES and YES! Every country that produces meat and wants to sell it to other counties has some sort of slaughter regulations that producers must follow if they want to be able to sell their product. The major ones are the United States and the USDA regulations also the European Union and even Canada. These are only three out of the whole world and I found them all by simply googling "(country) slaughter regulation"

  • Interesting question and I'm not sure how to answer. Cattle and pigs are both harvested similarly and the carcass is cut relatively the same. I guess since cattle are bigger, it would last longer. I will say that chicken (broilers as they're called in the biz) slaughter is a little messed up if you don't know anything about chickens. Chicken is the most consumed meat, in the United States at least, and the sheer number of broilers slaughtered every day rends stunning inefficient. Instead they are calmed either by CO2 gas or running them through a dark room. Then they are hung on a conveyor belt by their feet and their heads removed. This might seem horrid to some people but honestly, chickens are stupid. They have no problem with being upside down and it's up to the chicken to decide if decapitation is painful I guess. All in all, cattle and pigs are both slaughtered painlessly so it's up to you to decide what's humane to eat.

  • The nervous systems of livestock species are well developed at birth so no, it's not like circumcision. They can feel it quite well. Take it from my anatomy and neuroscience classes in vet school on that one. That being said, I'm sure it hurts like a bitch at the time; but from what I've seen on farms and such, the animal gets over it quickly and goes back to normal.

I hope this clears the air a bit. And to the OP, I'm so sorry a hilarious gif in r/funny turned into a huge animal welfare rant. I am quite passionate about this subject and feel obligated to educate people about what really goes on in the industry since most people only hear about it from radical groups like PETA and the ALF. Please forgive me!

I'm so sorry if it came off that way, that's not what I intended. Those procedures are not an operation of slaughter but of herd management. They are done when the animal is young and I was merely suggesting that the animal is NOT in agonizing pain for the day, or even an hour. It is as quick and clean as possible when the farmer is doing over 100 a day.

[–]nolanmcclain 0 points1 point ago

That is absolutely true. It is for our own good. I was merely saying that between getting my tail chopped off or having my ass eaten out, I would choose less painful docking. But you are right, if it wasn't for the large population limiting farmland and a large demand for meat that requires large scale operations to meet that demand, then we wouldn't have to subject these animals to tight spaces and fast growing feed. Unfortunately the world isn't getting smaller yet and we like our meat.

[–]nolanmcclain 20 points21 points ago

Okay, fair enough. I will admit that there are shady operations that go down in this world. The best I can do is explain what I know as an animal science major in the US. Things like dehorning cattle, tail docking pigs and beak trimming chickens is done to ensure they don't kill themselves in confinement. Pigs especially, since they are omnivoirs and will eat each other if given the chance to grab on to something like a tail. And it's done without anesthesia because it's too expensive and their simply isn't enough time. It's not pleasant, but it is done for their own good.

That being said, i can promise you, PROMISE YOU, that in respectable harvesting facilities, cattle and pigs are stunned on the ground, then hung, exsanginated and processed as fast and clean as possible to reduce microbial spoiling. Not stung up, alive, for hours on end. Whatever grotesque animal rights propaganda you may have seen is almost always outdated and/or not taken from the same country.

This was not directed at you in anyway. I disagreed with a lot of comments in this thread and had to say something somewhere. I'm not looking to change your mind but to simply believe that animal producers are not a bunch of animal hating murders. They are simply trying to supply a demand as efficiently and humanly as possible. And that's all I have to say.

[–]nolanmcclain 17 points18 points ago

From a producers standpoint, why pay for anesthesia for something that's going to hurt for 5 minutes? And also, who the fuck hangs animals for half a day? No one, that's who. The stress hormones from that kind of treatment, or any of this bullshit would make the meat look and taste terrible. Today's slaughterhouses are designed to be as stress free as possible to get the highest quality meat. I really hate getting on a soapbox for these kind of issues but there are so many stupid people out there forming opinions from retarded videos that in no way shape or form represent the industry. Educate yourselves.

Your struggles are definitely well warranted, I remember rage quitting a few times before I finally prevailed. The RC race is a bitch, no two ways about it. As I recall, I always got hit coming around a turn. A trick I found helpful was to stick to one side, i.e. stick to the right or stick to the left the whole time. This will help avoid getting hit around turns. Although it will make it harder to catch up, it's a necessary evil to survive all 16 cars.

Dr. M is a tough bastard as well. He doesn't leave a lot of openings so you've got to take them when they come. The elemental balls can be avoided by going out onto the lasers on the edge of the room. The lighting and fire balls can't get you out there but his small red shots can so still be careful. Other than that, there's not a lot else you can do besides be skillful in dodging and beat the ever loving fuck out of him when you can. I hope this helps, and good luck to you.

God of War IV Is God of War: Ascension Confirmed Leaked Amazon Cover Art/Trailer! by jamisonfitzin PS3

Looks like no multiplayer. I, for one, am glad. Call me antisocial, but the god of war series should remain a one man show. The idea of being able to play as Kratos' brother could be interesting, but I feel one angry Spartan on a murderous rampage is enough. And so help me God, if there's any additional DLC, someone's getting murdered.

Eureka Seven conclusion questions. Spoiler by Margery_Dawin anime

[–]nolanmcclain 0 points1 point ago

It most certainly was not a parallel universe. It is as Lexarius says, the place Renton, Eureka and the kids went was the original Earth underneath the layer of scub coral that surrounds the planet. We clearly see the giant laser blow the huge whole in the scub which allows theEND and Nirvash (and Dominic, unsuccessfully) to pass through. Not a wormhole, an actual hole. Then with the second laser blast blowing the central pillar to kingdom come we can clearly see a chunk of the crust missing which allows the flag ship to fly through. I will indulge the theory that AO takes place elsewhere since it hasn't been revealed why they are living on the original Earth continents.

Potential Plot For Final Fantasy XIII Versus Revealed? by yemdin FinalFantasy

[–]nolanmcclain 4 points5 points ago

I'm not sure how to react to this. If it's accurate then yeah, this sounds like a badass game and I finally understand where "Versus" comes from; meaning you will play as the villain rather than a hero. However, the whole thing sounds like fan-fiction and completely made up. That whole story about Nomura wanting this to be a secret game with an all black case and distribution by word of mouth only sounded effing stupid. An interesting read non the less but I wouldn't put much stock in it. Especially since the game isn't coming for another year or more.

I hated that damn thing. Was it just me, or is the auto reel rigged? I rubber banded the button and sat there watching it go and 90% of the time, the left reel would stop at the exact same place. So if it wasn't set for a 7 from the start, I had no chance. I ran it enough to get the Lucky Coin fragment and chocobo raced for the rest. And whatever, "This machine's as hot as a summer day!" is supposed to do, doesn't seem to do shit.
