Just one more reason not to hitchhike in Florida.

As a tall male w/ a short male friend I just had my world shattered into what short guys have to put up with! Why is society so cruel? by MrTrampStampin AskReddit

Hey now, wait a minute. I'll take the liberty to speak for the /r/tall girls: I think it's something of a support group and confidence booster. I was very insecure about my height for a long time, until I finally worked out a philosophy and attitude about the matter. It's nice to get some rare positive reinforcement.

Are you serious? I must be lucky in my interactions, or you must be unlucky in yours, because at 5'11 I never get comments like that. Maybe people are thinking them, but the only ones that get voiced are positive.

This is horrifying. What's the back story? Was this guy a hiker? Does he have a name? I spend a lot of time in the woods so I feel the need to learn everything I can about animal attacks.

Bear mauling is just about my worst nightmare.

I bet. I'm not even sure why, but I find this song orgasmically good. I can't get enough of it.

INFJ here as well. I'm usually calm and relatively quiet - the nice girl with the soft voice. Also, is rumination a common pastime for INFJs? Because I do it a lot.

Well, here's one.

But as I understand it, 5'10+ is very uncommon anywhere. More so in certain countries like China, but probably still quite rare in the Netherlands, the "tallest country." You might want to literally lower your standards. Height is pretty cool but it's not the end-all-be-all.

With that said, good luck in your search.

I'm also interested in the cooking details of this one. The hash browns too. This is one of the better-looking dishes I've seen here.

Hey r/tall! Do you ever get angry? by SilarXin tall

[–]nocitydusthere 1 point2 points ago*

I'm a mellow person, and I don't seethe/fume when I get angry. I get kind of quiet and intense. Paired with my height, maybe it's intimidating to some people. I've noticed that my 5'8 male boss doesn't give me as much shit as he does to the shorter people (everything else being equal). I'm 85% sure it's related to the height.

I'd be willing to give it a try, but I have a feeling it'd get smudgy after a short wear.

I want to believe.

In 1990. My parents only told me recently. My doc might've been a relic of the 50s.

5'5" (mom) and 6'3" (dad). Apparently the grandpa genes (6'5") are strong in my siblings and me.

As a white american, let me just say how largely ignorant we are to other cultures.

To some extent, we're all ignorant about each others' cultures. Is it your noble duty to be informed about every cultural group living in the States? Does it make you an asshole if you don't? Most cultures are pretty uninformed about the customs and traditions of other cultures. It's a natural result of growing up in one culture and not another. I'm sure that other immigrant cultures (Indian, WASP, Irish, Nigerian, Chinese, etc.) are similarly unaware about my Slavic roots. Whatever. If I happen to learn something about my friends' cultural traditions, then I'm all the richer for it. But I'm not ignorant if I happen not to know...

Can someone please explain to me how this flew under the radar? And how I would go about finding this documentary. by GreyDayin water

I own this documentary on DVD. I saw it at Toronto's Hot Docs Festival in '09 (if I'm not mistaken) and bought it the following year. It's a beautiful doc.

It appears to be selling through this website (check out the right side). Though I'm not sure if it's only Canada.

I recommend The Code Book by Simon Singh. It covers everything from simple monoalphabetic substitution, all the way to quantum cryptography (the latter is not applicable, but interesting). My favourite was the Vigenere cipher.
