TwoX I need some cheering up by nerbieqpantsin TwoXChromosomes

[–]mysecretagent 6 points7 points ago

I'm so sorry this happened. At least you had the guts to say something to him though!

Here are the two things I automatically go to when I need cheering up: lamb and a new one, but a good one - drunk Ron Swanson.

Reddit, Do you live next-door or in the same neighborhood as anyone famous and have any stories about being their neighbors? by tellmetheworldin AskReddit

[–]mysecretagent 1 point2 points ago

My parents live in the same neighborhood! I remember being really upset as a kid when Chipper Jones once gave out autographs on Halloween in invisible ink.

Stuck in the house due to blizzard. Might as well start a new TV series. Thoughts? by rharryin AskReddit

Yes! I marathoned Misfits this past weekend, and I am now anxiously waiting for its return. The premise sounds a little strange, but it's amazing.

There's a really interesting paper about an issue similar to this here. It basically talks about this case where it does seem somewhat borderline whether there was actually a rape or not, and how people from different cultural backgrounds see this differently.

I didn't know that! I've never actually been to Ghana, so I was just thinking it was because of my friend's dashing good looks :)

My friend had a camera, and he said it was fine. And you do need some kind of adapter, but I'm not sure what kind.

He went with a school group his first summer over there, but went on his own the next summer. He's never had any kind of safety problem over there, but a few girls his first summer did get malaria so that's something you should probably be careful about.

If you message me with your email, I can send you a copy of his check-list that has all sorts of information on it.

I've never been to Ghana, but I've got a bunch of information from a friend who's been there a few times. What kinds of things would you like to know?

Here's a random few things from where my friend went:

  • The name they will call you will be the word for the day you were born, so this could be a good thing to go ahead and learn
  • Only use your right hand for eating and writing
  • People will try to convert you to their religions just about constantly
  • There are four main dishes: Banku (with Groundnut soup or Okra Stew), Fufu (Groundnut or Okra), Rice and Chicken, and Kin key (same as Banku and Fufu)
  • You will get many many marriage proposals

I'm in my twenties and I still have 4 baby teeth. My dad's in is fifties and has 11.

When you look at me from the side it can be kind of disconcerting...they're quite small compared to the rest of my teeth.

Ask Reddit: If you had to pick one new language to learn, which would it be? by domino_starsin AskReddit

Yes, yes, yes. I was looking for someone saying Swedish. A few years ago, I picked up a book to try to learn but ran out of free time. I'd love to try again one day.

All I remember now is "tack" and "kackerlacka".

I love this movie so much. I make people watch it all the time, but they never seem to like it as much as I do.

I think it's about time for my annual Christmas viewing!

That sounds absolutely perfect. Now I just need to find some people in Chicago who are as excited about the snow as I am!

I had completely forgotten about Ponette. What a great movie. It's been years since I've seen it, so I think I'll have to pull it out again.
