I've played with mics and frequency analysis, but I'm no expert whatsoever.

For the mic part, I made this circuit, it worked like a charm.

For the analysis, I used some Fast Fourier Transform algorithm (FFT), but don't remember exactly which one... It also worked fine. I think I took some ideas from this guy at the time, but I think I ended up finding something easier.

I'm not quite sure what that is, but it doesn't look like yeast (I may be wrong). The definitive proof would be for it to bubble.

I've done this for sourbread starter, you just leave on your counter (or some "quiet" place) a mixture of water and whole-wheat flour and wait for it to bubble. It can take anything from a couple days to a week, even more. After it starts to bubble more vigorously, you just feed it with more flour.

As you are trying to catch some yeast that thrives fermenting your wort, maybe you can try a different approach. I could be wrong, but It looks to me your mixture is too sweet... Maybe you can press some juicy fruit (an apple? as jvlpdillon says) and leave it in the open for a while. Keep in mind many a times there's yeast in the fruit's skin, so don't wash it (at least not too much). Also, your local temperature plays a factor: the warmer it is, the sooner you may recognize the signs. For sourbread starter, some people recommend to leave it close to the stove or some place warm.

If I recall correctly, the "My Music" folder is probably under another folder (Documents/Music or something like that), where you can access it.

What if we compare both forces (earth's pull vs your magnet's pull) when the clip is at moon distance?

To be honest, I have no idea about the math, just that both forces diminish in proportion to the squared distance... which makes me wonder why the magnet wins over small distances. maybe it has something to do with the magnetic flux?
