NASA is a waste of tax money. We have starving people on our streets but waste money dicking around in space.

Dogs shouldn't be subject to such abuse in the field. Working dogs live unnatural lives and aren't allowed to roam/play and even often be pet as it may "break" their training.

Lots of shelter animals originally came from pet stores. Lots of pet store animals came from puppy mills where they have far worse behavioral conditions than the most abused shelter dog you'd find.
