From the experiences of my family: do not trust family with money, even if they have got intentions. It leads to hurt feelings, lost money, and regret on all sides, especially the side of the person who gave or Lent the money.

You are much much better of f researching on your own what to do with it and leaving family and friends entirely out of your financial decisions. That goes double if you have any friends or family that with in finance and want to help you.

You should almost Never use a commission based financial planner. And using the ones that family or friends use can be tough, as most people don't actually know if they are getting good advice. Better to use a referred fee based planner with certifications and then k check to make sure our it's good and reasonable advice

Also: Do not trust family our family friends with the money (loans or gifts). And do not let them invest it or do anything with it. Nothing good comes of it.

Hire a fee based financial planner if you need advice. ( pay then up front, they get no money from what you do with your money, and most of then live off referrals so it is in their interest to give you decent advice). Double check everything they suggest to verify that it it's good advice.

Do not tell anyone you got the money or how much if you do tell them. Especially don't tell family.

It sounds like she's okay with being on the pill, and just hates the side effects. Her GP/Gyno should be able to suggest alternative pills. There are a wide variety out there, and they all affect people differently.

It may have not been officially founded until the 1980's, but Hamas was an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, which was founded in the 1920's. Read up on it to see their views, but they're an extreme fundamentalist group that can easily be looked up. So not exactly recent.

The PLO was founded in 1964, before the 1967 6-Days War, which was when Israel actually gained control of the West Bank/Gaza/Golan Heights. So, essentially, they wanted to remove Israel from the lands granted to them by the British back in 1948. It's stated goal, from it's founding, was the destruction of Israel and the removal of all it's people from their country.

As a reminder: This means that, when the Palestinians still had ALL of the west bank and the Gaza strip, they STILL wanted to wipe Israel and it's people "off the map" so to speak. There was no "repression" of the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza when Israel was founded. And if by stealing you mean "taking by force when attacked from all sides by the neighboring Arab States" then sure. Of course, that overlooks the fact that Israel didn't actually expand it's borders until the 6 Days War, and that the palestinians were actually ruled by the Egyptians, Syria, and Jordan for those 20 years of repression you talked about. But yeah, you were close.

Well, then the next time that he shows up, or mails you something, call the police and report it. If he calls you, don't answer it, just let it go to voicemail. Don't respond with anything other than a text that says "do not contact me anymore" so that there is a record of it. Phonecalls don't make good records.

Imagined. Mmm, yes, the rocket attacks by Hamas and Hezbollah are imagined. Ongoing rocket attacks I might add. The Intifada's were imagined. And I probably shouldn't bring up up the wars that involved Egypt and Syria, or the fact that almost no one in the region has acknowledged Israel's right to exist.

Ah yes, the document that totally proves the US incited Japan to war. Yeah, we drove them to the attack on pearl harbor. That document is more a method of containment, and when it went up the chain it had comments added to it saying that we should avoid the orient entirely.

The japanese attacked us, knowing full well what the result would be after they did it. The "provocations" they claim from the US were all prudent actions to be taken against an obviously hostile power (even if we weren't at war with them at the time) who had allied themselves with our allies enemy.

Ah yes, Israel is totally the wild dog of the region. Yep. Not Iran, Syria, Bahrain, Hamas, Hezbollah (in Lebanon), The Taliban, Pakistan. Israel is waaay worse than all of those countries. I mean, you can even practice christianity there and blaspheme against god without getting your head lopped off. Or your buildings burned down. WHO WANTS THAT.

Where would you have them draw the limit between michael phelps and a guy who doesn't know how to swim? The single mom who can kind of swim and would have, say a 50% chance of saving the kid and living herself? Want to jail her if she thinks its a better idea not to jump in the water? Or how about that guy who has a 95% chance of saving the kid and not dyeing?

What about if someone doesn't know the river and it actually has a very dangerous rocky section between him/her and the kid? Should you arrest and jail them for not wanting to jump into a strange unfamiliar body of water?

Someone being mugged by a guy with a gun, how about that?

I like living in a world where people like you can't force people to do something. Keep your dirty hands off my liberty. Would I jump in to save the kid? Probably. Do I want to walk around the world nervous that i'll go to prison if I don't jump to someone's aid right away? Hell no.

I disagree, as do the courts that have looked at these cases so far (the Supreme Court hasn't looked at them yet). You should not be able to patent an already existing human gene (feel free to patent if you create it!), as it is pre-existing. If you want to patent the method you used to isolate it, do so. If you want to patent any changes you make to the gene, do so. If you want to patent a treatment based on the gene, do so. But patenting the gene itself? That's restricting somebody else from even LOOKING at the gene for possible uses.

Example: There's a patent on the breast cancer gene. The owners developed a test for that gene, which should be patentable (the test, not the gene). But preventing anyone else from developing a TEST for something because you own part of someone's body? Ridiculous.

Same concept as quinine or other malaria drugs: You can patent tests and treatment, but not malaria itself.

That is, sadly, exactly why it's a good idea to know CPR, but not a good idea to be certified. If you're certified and you do it wrong or fail to help: SUED!

If you aren't certified, you won't get sued. Just don't try anything until 911 tells you to try, and then you were just doing what you were supposed to. How's that for punishing knowledge.

Then you're taking the wrong train train. If you get the ticket early enough and late enough at night the you can get tickets like that for 20-25 pounds
