Yeah, you bring up a good point. In D1 we have the twist ending, in D2 we have this cool notion that the wanderer was the character in D1, and we had Marius who I thought was easy to relate to, this sad, naive man who was easily tricked by Baal. What did we get in D3? Leah, I guess, but the lore nerds predicted her story months ago.

Everything was just very predictable. Maybe it had to do with the voice acting/directing, but I just don't feel like the NPCs acted properly in any given situation, with the exception of the followers. Hedrig should have been in tears after his wife died. Leah should have been in tears from seeing her mother again, but she was indifferent. Adria was obviously cold and distant to Leah. I don't know. It was just satisfactory, and nothing more.

It was enjoyable because it was different. The main story was more of the same, even if it was just a setup for all the monster-slaying. I mean, I can't imagine how hard it was for blizzard to juggle playing it safe with trying something new, because the Diablo fan base is just staggeringly huge, and, as we've shown, quite dedicated.

If they decide to make an expansion for Diablo III, I want conclusions for the followers' stories. by idwolfin Diablo

I know what you mean. Even though these sequences are repeatable, and they never affect the story, unfortunately, I still feel like I need to be the hero. I rescued all of the prisoners (early in act 2) I got the achievement, but I still did it again in nightmare just for personal immersion.

[S] Korea has beaten SINGLE PLAYER! (No Spoilers in Link) by King_Rajeshin Diablo

[–]idwolf 0 points1 point ago

Yeah man. I'll admit I was wrong.

Sure they got it by ghosting through, but they found the fastest way possible to beat it and I should have realized that someone was going to do it. I just really thought that the items would be harder to come by. I'm starting to see a lot of Diablo 3's shortcomings, which is why I was so combative with you in the first place... I don't want to see these things. I just want a product that makes me happy. It's pretty pathetic, but games are one of the few things I still have to look forward to. I don't think it was wrong of me to ask for evidence though, but as the mythbusters say, "Failure is always an option".

It really wasn't a good plot point. The character gets fired up about going after Mahgda but I played the wizard, and he knows that Belial is leading him away from his goal but he doesn't care and he goes after her anyway. It's just weird.

To shed some light on why his death wasn't a cinematic, I read that they only developed scenes that they were completely sure of. These cinematic sequences take a long time to develop and they were probably debating over how Cain would die.

Everyone loves Cain, so this feels almost as bad of a choice as the ME3 ending. His death felt so insignificant. We didn't even get to see him fight back.

Yeah. His temple, with the evil red lightening flashes, was my favorite location. Plus his voice was just so over-the-top haha.

I didn't expect much from her, but she was incredibly easy though.

I remember those names vaguely. Weren't they champions in Act 5 of Diablo 2?

Yeah. I was honestly expecting to fight him. The entire setup was there. At least we got to fight Izual again. :D

I don't even know of any others for the Wizard. Right now I alternate between 15 seconds of invincibility, then I kite for 15 seconds. I can use Force to randomly teleport enemies but I'll have to test all my abilities out when I get to 60 and see what's possible. It's not going to be easy though. I can tell.

Why is D3 so obsessed with only joining two people to a game at a time? by kwjohnsin Diablo

[–]idwolf 0 points1 point ago

The other thing is if you open your game in the middle of a quest you probably wont get people to join until you reach an important story arch. I opened after I killed a mini-boss and no one joined my game until much later.

I don't understand. It's the most defensive build with the highest amount of damage. I'm only in my 30s so I don't know what skills I'm missing, but so far this is the best I can do.

I know we all love this game, but the latency in this game is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. by Marzzin Diablo

I wont be trying hardcore until it gets fixed. I know I'm going to be demolished by my already-inherent lag if I do.
