How would YOU get publicity? Eye opening no-nonsense breakdown of 'Artemis Eternal' movie PR - if you read any entertainment media then this is a MUST by filmfairin entertainment

[–]filmfair[S] 0 points1 point ago

Great comment I have so many questions! first when you said "And the tagline is atrocious. " did you mean tagline to the movie or to that write up?

but the marketing is not at a professional level,

I'm curious what you would do. From following, she has always been professional but this is more of an informal account. She also talks about the expense of "professional marketing". I am so curious about what you mean exactly. How for example was hiring a top firm to handle the project not professional? Does she not comment on that what's considered "professional" is expensive and ridiculous?

but because they're lazy and her story isn't going to get them enough eyeballs to warrant a lot of their time.

I think she makes that point really clearly - that it's the culture and not some kind of personal conspiracy against one movie - and most readers don't know that, so isn't therefore media literacy? I dont think she calls the press not media literate. I think she makes a clear point about the way the entertainment press works. She's pretty clear about the "not having a hook" part. The point being that "merit" or a good idea isn't enough - what you call getting pissed off or what I'd call being publicly critical came later. Isn't the news news and a discussion newsworthy regardless of how sensational and how many eyeballs it might or might not draw? This write up and your comment is more interesting than what's being reported for example.

Is it just me or is this subreddit just turning into people pushing their books or blogs? by brenda0923in books

[–]filmfair 2 points3 points ago

I try to promote good indie authors because it's like a crime for them to share their books themselves, which is stupid. So it's ok for them to link a newspaper article talking about the book but it's not ok for them to just skip that step and tell us about the book? This is all public perception.

It seems more and more Kindle books are as expensive, too expensive, and even more than their paper counterparts. Is the Kindle worth it anymore? by scotchburgin kindle

[–]filmfair 0 points1 point ago

Yep. They aren't cheaper because the costs of what's on the page is still the same. All the kindle does is replace the delivery trucks not the book itself.

What actor/actress are you holding out hope for that 'Academy Award' performance from? by ilikefartingin movies

[–]filmfair 2 points3 points ago

Really? Natalie Portman was a great child actor who stood out in interesting indie movies. I actually think she was better then in some ways. With Emma Watson a unique ability has yet to be seen.

This comic is about as douchey as Joffrey. No creator, indie or corporate, is required to sell something to you just because you want it right now.
