The "Mor" comes from the abbreviation of "มหาวิทยาลัย" (Mahawithayalạy) as ม. (pronounced "mor maa" as a letter or just "mor" when abbreviated). Any university can be abbreviated that way. For example, ม. กรุงเทพฯ (Mor Grungthep, or Bangkok University) or ม. เกษตร (Mor Kaset, or the University of Agriculture).

Tell her that OS X and Linux both use the same security conventions inherited from UNIX. Almost all Linux desktop systems come with additional default hardening in the form of AppArmor or SELinux.

That said, nothing will protect the system from a user who goes around every security enhancement in order to install the shiny new thing.

Really, if you are already running GRUB, don't bother with mini.iso or burning anything. Instead, just download the linux and initrd.gz files from the same location. EX: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/precise/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/

AMD64 is also available.

You then reboot into a GRUB command line and do something like

  • linux /path/to/linux

  • initrd /path/to/initrd.gz

  • boot

and you get the same results as using the mini.iso.

Don't worry about it. I've been working out for quite a few years, and every new gym still means a lot of walking around without being productive for 2-3 sessions, while I'm learning that they don't have some of the equipment that I want and figuring out what to replace those with. Spend the first week getting comfortable and ask the trainers for an "introductory" session. They'll try to sell you on training, but honestly, it sounds like you might want to take it.

I never trust articles that pull out a delicious, juicy quote inspiring controversy, but don't provide a link to the context. In this case, the context is super important.

"Maybe you shouldn't be doing it [on the Internet while logged in and on your computer] in the first place." Hmm. Thousands of file sharers sued for collective millions of dollars by the RIAA and MPAA wish they would have followed that advice. It turns out that Schmidt's words were true, eh? You just need to add some shared circles that match your interest. Google+ isn't about socializing with people you know. It's about people who share and are passionate about your interests. More like Twitter that way, I guess. Find an interest circle or two here and add them.
