Yes, I live in Cape Town. That's a pretty cool Tattoo. Are you planning on reading The Pale King? I've ordered my copy, but will probably only read it later this year. I'm going through a bit of phase right now, and am only reading escapist type books.
I really enjoyed Kafka on the Shore. Nice to meet a South African redditor with similar book taste.

I would recommend David Mitchell. Especially Ghostwritten or Number9dream.
I would say Pinball 1973 is worth it, if you're a fan. I did not enjoy Hear the Wind Sing that much.
