Looking for excel books focusing on excel's financial functions by 837183in excel

I suggest asking your professor for some reading selections. There is a wealth of knowledge available in the help feature within Excel and online too.

I've never read a book on Excel. Why are you looking for this?

Making a list in a report with totals by de-inspiredin MSAccess

[–]bodycounters 0 points1 point ago

In your report you should be able to go to design view and when you select the field look at the Control Source. There should be a button with an ellipsis (...) that will open the Expression Builder. You can use Expression Builder to create your COUNT function.

Another alternative is to export to Excel, I find it is much easier to do calculations in Excel than Access.

Has anyone noticed this new trend of ditching the significance of sidebars? Is this a good idea? by prymein web_design

[–]bodycounters 14 points15 points ago

I'm sure you know this, but the very idea of the fold goes back to newspapers and what you saw when the newspaper was folded in half, or what shows through a newspaper vending machine.

In my opinion it is stupid to hold on to a concept from a different form of media and try to apply it to this one.

When is it ok to be persistent in persuing a woman? by probablyanoveltyacctin AskWomen

From the sounds of your post, you haven't yet begun to pursue a woman. If you're not sure about a woman's feelings for you and you want to date her, just ask her out!

Why hasn't Communism ever suceeded? by Liberal_Jewin DebateaCommunist

[–]bodycounters 0 points1 point ago

Communism has succeeded, in small groups and when it comes about naturally from the bottom up instead of from the top down like with the communist states most people think of when they hear the word communism. Go read the Communist Manifesto if you really want to know more about it. Marx's vision of a utopian society was one where the workers themselves got fed up with the status quo and overthrew the rich guys so they could take over and redistribute the wealth. USSR and any other communist state that existed and failed did not follow this vision. It was coming from the government/military, not from the people themselves.

waspbr said it better than me, "the fact that the government became the sole holder of the means of production means that it was not communism/socialism but state capitalism"

However if you look at Native Americans before the white men came in and fucked everything up, or even hippie communes in the 60s, communism can work. I think it can only really work on a small scale though because once it grows too big there is too much chance for corruption to creep in.

The thing to keep in mind about that, though, is we also have corruption in our government. Capitalism and "democracy" are not exempt from the corrupting influence of power.

I feel like the creepy police in this subreddit. What is up with you young kids these days and your obsession with "creepiness"? Where did this come from? Why is this word overused and misused so much by this generation? I just don't fucking get it.

So, women, is there any non-creepy way to go about doing this? by Nakihsain AskWomen

[–]bodycounters 1 point2 points ago

If they believe that solely based on something she said they are not your friends. If you don't act creepy (i.e. sending her pictures of your dick, following her home just to find out where she lives, calling just to breathe heavily on the phone, sitting under her window at night while she sleeps, etc.) then it doesn't matter if other people label you as creepy because they are wrong. That's what you need to understand. Don't act creepy, and if someone calls you creepy anyway, tell them they don't understand the fucking definition of the word. Guys are allowed to be interested in a girl. If she tells you she is not interested and you keep trying to force it, that's when it crosses a line.

Also, check out this xkcd - it is highly relevant to your interests.

Sex and intimacy are NOT the same thing.

So, women, is there any non-creepy way to go about doing this? by Nakihsain AskWomen

[–]bodycounters 2 points3 points ago

Well here's something I've noticed about kids your age (I'm 34), girls tend to use that word "creepy" a lot, but I think they really mean something else. To me creepy means scary or uncomfortable, like a homeless crack addict who wants to suck your dick for a dollar. I think girls in high school/just starting college tend to use it for situations where they just aren't interested in a guy. A guy who shows interest in you isn't creepy, he's just interested. If you tell him you're not interested and he sits outside your house waiting for you or follows you around trying to get you to change your mind and like him anyway, then it becomes creepy.

So are you really worried about being creepy, or are you worried about being rejected?

[–]bodycounters 1 point2 points ago

I personally would not find this creepy. I know that facebook is constantly showing me pictures of people it thinks I should add as a friend so if someone told me they saw me there it wouldn't be a big deal. In a way it's similar to if you saw her at a party with all those acquaintances. Would it be creepy for you to walk up to her in that situation and say she caught your eye and you want to get to know her a little better? I don't think so.

What would you make of this? by RedDevils007in AskWomen

[–]bodycounters 1 point2 points ago

What does it matter how she rationalized it? If you don't want to have any contact with her, don't respond. To me this sounds more like a maturity/age thing than a woman thing, so I don't know how much other women can really help you figure out what she might be thinking in trying to contact you.

Ladies: your thoughts on the phrase, "Don't be friends with someone you want to fuck" ? by Tooked86in AskWomen

[–]bodycounters 2 points3 points ago

It sounds like you are looking for a fuckbuddy, not a girlfriend. I don't think it's wrong for you to not have any interest in a platonic friendship with her if it wouldn't make you happy, but your justification for it is a little off.

Unless you are really trying to say that you want HER to be your girlfriend and anything less than that is just not going to be enough for you. That makes total sense and I agree it's better to not pretend you are okay with being just friends when you want more.

So, women, is there any non-creepy way to go about doing this? by Nakihsain AskWomen

[–]bodycounters 1 point2 points ago

The most non-creepy way to do it is to be honest. Send her a message saying that facebook recommended her because of your many mutual acquaintances and that's how she caught your eye.
