Have a two monitor setup in linux that's futzing out?

Run xrandr - If you have a couple monitors they will be listed as FOO1 / BAR1* and it'll display the resolutions each monitor can handle

Screen 0: minimum 64 x 64, current 2048 x 1152, maximum 32000 32000
VBOX0 connected 2048x1152+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   2048x1152      60.0*+
   1440x1050      60.0  
   1280x960       60.0  
   1024x768       60.0  
   800x600        60.0  
   640x480        60.0

Once you have the names of your monitors (IE: VGA, DVI)

xrandr --output DVI1 --left-of VGA1

BOOM! Instant, correct two monitor setup.

(*where FOO and BAR are probably VGA and DVI)

Stubborn fake AV or virus? use Combofix

On a safe computer, put combofix onto a USB Drive you don't mind formating

Boot infected computer into safemode + networking

run combofix

system will reboot twice (sometimes, and will loudly inform you it's doing it)

after combofix is done run malware bytes
