While this is true for over the counter drugs, In hospitals, there are fundamental legal differences that coincide with taking generic drugs.

I work in a chicken wing franchise on Staten Island, we're situated in a small plaza with a movie theater.

Maybe two or three months ago, on a Friday or a Saturday night. A scraggly black dude walks in and orders one hundred chicken wings. This isn't too unusual for a Friday night. So, I proceed to give him his chicken wings in a to-go box.

He was like "no, no, miss." And I was like, "What do you mean, no no?" He then asked me if I could dump the wings, sauce and all into a black-industrial size garbage bag. My manager was like, "no, you have to take them this way."

So he then dumped the wings into the bag, rolled it up, put it underneath his jacket, and proceeded to enter the movie theater.

We were all like HUUUUUHHHHH?

This was a documentary from 1978 about talking gorillas. It mentions a chimpanzee named Washou who had 200+ words in her vocabulary.

To my knowledge, linguists have stopped funding for this area of research because there were too few instances of recombining signs in a novel way, which is a maxim of language development.
