Math majors- would you recommend I take a basic statistics class before taking calc-based probability? (self.math)

I find this post to be contradictory. Can you elaborate?
Yes, I have gotten A's in Calc AB, Calc BC, and my current college calc class. However, I haven't had much exposure to actual proofs (there were those easy ones in geometry, but I assume you're talking about more complex ones).

I understand a lot of that stuff now, but I didn't before and thus resulting in low marks back when we were tested over those concepts. I seem to always get things a few weeks after I'm supposed to. Now, the challenge is object oriented programming and I cannot wrap my head around it at all. I understand examples and such, but it seems that tests and quizzes are always so much harder than examples that I looked at.
In high school I had high A's in calc and 5's on practice AP tests. In college, I'm making an A- in a class that's essentially series/sequences + polar + Calc 3.
I have always enjoyed doing math, that's the main reason I enjoyed chemistry and physics in high school. Java though, I feel that once the problem is done, I'm more relieved than excited. Is that normal for those working on large projects?
That's the thing, I honestly can't, but I want to do something math related in the future, and I've heard that essentially EVERY math related career has a lot of programming... I'm just so confused on what I can do.

I definitely didn't put in as much work as I should've. I was a lazy college freshman who wasn't used to such a workload because my high school was much easier. Math and science classes always came naturally to me, so I figured that computer science would too, what a mistake that was.
