r/edmp, what is (in your opinion) the most well made EDM song in the last year or so? by Spagheteein edmproduction

[–]Yorgan 0 points1 point ago

Objekt - Tinderbox

The care that goes into Objekt's tracks is mind-blowing. The mix is always superb, it's the kind of music where you can hear and appreciate every tiny detail and really get a feel for the bones of the track.

Also by Objekt:

CLK Recovery

The Goose That Got Away

Sbtrkt - Wildfire (Objekt Dub Mix)

Cactus

I'm a big fan of his work :D

Dub Mechanics - Highest Strain [DEEP MEDi] by suplessein realdubstep

Mmm, backed with The Clash I do believe. First heard that tune on Mala's XLR8R mix, straight fire. This one has a great vibe too :D

Darkstar - Aidy's Girl's A Computer (the synth @ 1:25 specifically) by max1000000in edmsurgery

[–]Yorgan 1 point2 points ago

Not by any means an expert on systhesis, and I mostly just popped in to say this is one of my favorite song ever, but here's a thought.

It kinda sounds like the synth thats being run underneath it but higher, and with perhaps a saw LFO applied slightly to the gain running real quick to get that jitter. A very short delay is used to thicken it up a bit. I'm unsure on what kind of osc is being used but juding by the detuning I'd say a Multi Oscillator (I use reason, so that would be found in Thor not really shure about what other programs would use/what it would be in them). There is some pretty strong harmonics in it, and perhaps some bitcrushing? I'd also hazard that it could be a sped up version of the lower synth that comes in irght after its couple of bars.

:D

It's from 2003, and more housey, but The Paradise - In Love With You is a personal favorite of mine.
