I don't know how close you are to your gramps but one thing I heard from someone who was asked how much of their father's mind was left and he replied with, "About 30%" and tapped on his temple and said, "The rest is in here". I'm not sure what I'm trying to do here, I thought somehow telling you that story would be better than giving you a cheap, "sorry to hear that". But yeah, I have my good and bad days, though I'll have to say I love these old geezers more and more every day :]

I take care of those with Alzheimer's. Most people tell me they would never be able to do what I have to do on a daily basis, but my greatest pride comes from doing something for humanity.

I still feel heartbreak over my last relationship although I didn't love her how I wish I could've (the way you describe). I want what you have, and you have helped me to realize what I should be feeling when it is right, and that at least I have another shot at getting that feeling by not being stuck.
