I appreciate that they're trying to make it their own thing and modernize the experience as well but really, all I wanted from Black Mesa was Half-Life. I think focusing on ensuring that modern gamers will not grow bored with the fairly open-ended linear level design of the original Half-Life goes directly against this and I would much rather just have a 1:1 copy at this point than wait several more years for whatever they are creating.

That said, I understand that there are some things that have to be changed for them to work with the Source engine and that the nature of their recreation is also to improve the game overall which also means improving the level design. I just don't want it to deviate too much. And I just want to play it already....
