Why is the pluck on the forearms? Pretty sure Eyal generally teaches it to be closer to the neck. The reason being that's where your hands instinctively go when you are choked, secondly, you can pluck where the thumbs are which is a much weaker position.

Plucking someone's forearms when they are twice as strong as you would be tough.

Very similar to a quest I did, but slightly different. I was asked to look for an ancient sword, I didn't solve the pillars puzzle in the same way. Other than that, with fighting the necromancer and everything, sounds exactly the same!
