Theistic evolutionists are creationists. They believe a deity created the universe in a way that eventually allowed abiogenesis to bring about life and evolution to eventually bring about humans. It's an allegorical creationist interpretation rather than a literal creationist interpretation, but like any creationist theory, it is unfalsifiable. Nothing is meant to be misleading in my comment. In science, the branches of cosmogony, abiogenesis, and evolution are separate topics. Creationists of all sorts tie them together.

My concern with your original post is you conflate "political philosophy" with "politics". There's also a US centric underpinning to your claim (I'm Canadian, and study political philosophy at a Canadian University).

The political philosophy of "Conservatism" is about preservation, tradition, stability, and continuity. It does not include liberty as a primary tenant. The political philosophy of "Liberalism" is about freedom and tolerance. Most of the western world has government founded on the political philosophy of Liberalism and has resulted in liberal democracies.

Now, politics is another issue. This is where we get into labels and where American Conservatism is actually a branch of the political philosophy of Liberalism. These labels of politics, not political philosophy is what I truly believe you are concerned with. The politics that currently calls itself conservative in the US is not the politics of conservatism from 50 years ago (Call it Goldwater Conservatism if you'd like).

Likewise, the term "liberal" is dragged through the mud in the US while the country's government is a liberal democracy. This is due to politics which is separate from political philosophy; not to say they aren't connected, but it's the whole positive/normative-fact/value distinction.

So, I guess what I'm saying is that labels in the realm of politics are relativistic and depend on time and place (e.g. now vs. 60s, Canada vs. US). The branches of political philosophy are not as relativistic as they are more definitions. The politics of conservatives, liberals, and libertarians in the US are generally Liberal (that is under the political philosophy of Liberalism).

To read more on the political philosophy of Liberalism you can go to the moderns (Locke, Smith, Kant, Bentham, Mill) or the contemporaries (Keynes, Hayek, Berlin, Rawls, Nozick). People will say Keynes and Rawls are on the Left while Hayek and Nozick are on the Right, which are terms in politics; In political philosophy they are all Liberals. I'm currently reading Sen's Idea of Justice, which is in large part a critique of Rawls, but it's still under Liberalism.

Letter writing is too slow for this; it will be decided in a day or so. I called Rideau Hall (1-800-465-6890) and made my plea to Her Excellency to turn down the request by Harper to prorogue government. (I also wished her a Happy New Year while I was leaving my message.)

Blah Blah Blah Friedmanite policies Blah Blah Blah.

Not all privatization is bad, not all is good. We lived in a mixed economy that factors in relatively conservative regulations (Very much against Friedman). Even as a New Keynesian, I laughed my ass off reading Klein's book. She doesn't understand economics and gets her facts wrong on many issues.

Now, if you want to read informed criticism of globalization and the policies of the IMF, Stiglitz is the person to go to (His most recent was Making Globalization Work). Mainstream economics draws from the work of many different economists, including Friedman's monetary theory. His work is extremely important for monetary policy (he was an expert on depressions). In fact we applied it during the recession by increasing the money supply and the recession was short and relatively mild.

Well, technically the "no religious test clause" has never been applied to this type of situation. The applicable case from the canon of constitutional law is Torcaso v. Watkins, which didn't rely on the no religious test clause.

US Constitutional Law isn't as clear cut as reading the articles and applying logic to them. Case law needs to factor in and often convolutes what would seem the simple interpretation.

As a person of aboriginal heritage, I'll note that 'Native' is the most common and accepted term. 'First Nations' is really only used officially for PC reasons, Inuit refers to a very specific group, and Métis is used more technically. Most Métis I know just call themselves Native. Native is the term that I most frequently use.

So it really depends on who you are speaking to, but usually Native is perfectly acceptable while Aboriginal or First Nations person are phrases when you are in a more formal setting. Depends on the generation as well; My Grandmother, a residential school survivor, solely uses 'Indian'. In my mind, she can use whatever term she wants to describe her ethnicity.

You should put the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and mallet them so they are thin and even; they cook more evenly and faster. I don't usually do the flour step.

Save time you can buy "Italian bread crumbs" which have spices already mixed from a bulk foods store.

My assumption is that 20-25 minutes is too long, but then again I mallet mine and don't like my chicken as dry as some may.

I usually have pasta with pre-made sauce from a jar. I'd go with something like Penne Rigate over Spaghetti for a date as it will splatter.
