George Monbiot: the new Christopher Hitchens? by Kim147in climateskeptics

[–]Kim147[S] 1 point2 points ago

Because this is about threats of genocide from the left wing and because we have seen several times in these threads , in recent times , just such threats from the left wing AGW proponents . When people start threatening burning down homes , murder , totalitarian measures and even genocide it becomes a very serious and 'on topic' issue - just look at the history of this subreddit to see .

The Facebook Fallacy -- "Facebook is not only on course to go bust, but will take the rest of the ad-supported Web with it." It's a marketing business, run by geeks. It's not the next Google, it's the next AOL by phileconomicusin business

I very rarely notice or click through advertising and , as such , would not see it as being effective . Further I would consider a site such as Facebook as having a very short life time . Facebook is like CB radio of the 70's . What is effective is giving away things . In the 70's there was a sticker craze - companies would use them to advertise themselves , kids etc. would collect them and would put them on folders , note books , text books , family cars etc. . These days it's free software and things like mouse mats and pens etc. .

AGW \ climatism is so obviously rubbish and Will.i.am so obviously thinks it's rubbish . It's just a huge joke .

What has changed since then is that the movement to which I thought I belonged has closed ranks: against attempts to challenge this revisionism, against the facts, in effect against the victims of these genocides. My attempts to pursue this question number among the most dispiriting experiences of my working life.

very concerning because it is trying to belittle genocide and thereby permit genocide and make it more easy to carry out and likely it will be carried out . Especially so in light of what we have been hearing in these threads of recent .

Global warming author says “Bar-Code Everyone at Birth”. by kokeyin climateskeptics

Czech President: Václav Klaus on the global warming debate: 'They have succeeded in establishing the religion of environmentalism as the official religion of Western society' by AlyssaMoorein climateskeptics

[–]Kim147 3 points4 points ago

And why does it matter so much to the warmists that a few skeptics don't agree with them ? perhaps it's just that little bit of lingering doubt that they have ? the chink in their armor ? that they are so very worried it may all come crashing down around them , and all their certainties will be gone and they find that very frightening . And do they ask themselves why it doesn't frighten us ?

What American food do Australians dislike? by rdickerin Ausfood

[–]Kim147 0 points1 point ago

Well traveled Pommie Aussie here - I can't stand Vegimite \ Marmite and there are plenty of people who can't . I hate American food and will always avoid it if I can . I rarely eat hamburgers from takeaways . I almost always eat proper pizzas - not American takeaway pizzas , I certainly avoid McDonalds , Subway , Dominos , Pizza Hut , Starbucks etc. .

I can't stand the bread , the cheese is disgusting , the regurgitated crap disgusting , the smell revolting . If I'm eating takeaway chicken in Oz. I will go for Red Rooster anytime . I avoid all the crappy pop drinks . I go for fresh ingredients , no artificials and no GM's ( if possible ) .

And I absolutely loathe aggressive marketing - if they argue the order my usual response is to go elsewhere .

Question about CO2 and warming by deck_handin climateskeptics

[–]Kim147 1 point2 points ago

butch has basically covered it and has explained it well . I would add that energy transfer can occur at any frequency per se . Microwaves heat up water at around 2.5Ghz . All it needs is for the molecules or atoms to have a corresponding resonant frequency . This principle of resonance is very important . It basically is the connection between transfer of energy via oscillating forces - eg. EM fields - and atomic level movements . The heat we feel is atomic level movements where the atoms and molecules are restricted in their movements by atomic level forces - the hotter it is the more they jiggle .

Energy is the 'energy state' of the system - of the physical item in question . Energy itself cannot be bottled - it is essentially a construct . Heat is a form of energy but is no different than other such forms as it is just in terms of movement of the atoms and molecules . IR is not hot , however it can be converted into heat when it strikes an object due to resonance . Energy can be stored by imparting movement and by adding potential ( often the same thing ) . Potential is the level of force that can be exerted . An electron , for example , can be promoted into a higher shell , hence potential .

I can't be the only one who was angered by this QandA question? by erg0S4min australia

[–]Kim147 0 points1 point ago

The biggest danger to all of us everywhere in the world is feudalism . This has many modern forms and is very present in the world in many different government forms and private sources . The basic Australian principles of egalitarianism and fairness for all , regardless of birth or circumstance work to produce a non feudal society .
