The IOAA is fairly impartial and non-political, but it is difficult to make conclusions when Iran restricts their access.

The way things go in Egypt, I am guessing this will be changed within a few days or won't be enforced.

I disagree. You are not your job, and you can perform your job while holding other values/ethics/etc. What you do for work is not bound by who or what you do, unless you feel it does. A doctor can tell people to get more exercise and not exercise himself, it doesn't make him a poor doctor. A prosecutor can understand he needs to push for hard punishments and be a drug user himself, it doesn't affect his job performance.

The #1 Problem with College by DustinLivesin UniversityofReddit

Nice viewpoint, but it could be difficult teaching science and math the non-standard way. I don't think the education is broken, I think it is the motivation of students. #1 problem with college is probably that students expect to be given an education without working for it.

BBC - Why is US backing force in Libya but not Bahrain, Yemen? by nyxscin worldnews

Its about balance of power and security implications. If we went up against Saudi that would promote Irans influence and relative power in the region. Iran is already difficult to balance out since we f'd Iraq.

Why do we care about Libya? UN action is to protect civilians. Anti-abortionists are to protect unborn children, they don't have to be theirs.

USA'n here. I think it is clear how this happened. He was a fairly decent candidate the first time. It was really only during his second term that he really sucked. His first term was full of poor policy decisions but most of the government went along with them and shared the folly and couldn't lay blame on him alone. And 9/11.

yep, its called risk, but if risk is too high the public gets pissed. And people do risk assessments to ensure proper safety requirements are being taken to limit that risk to an acceptable level.

In a real free market the costs of being safe with nuclear would not be paid and it would be much cheaper. And much more dangerous.

Why aren't other nations physically defending the innocent people being massacred in Lybia? The U.S. suppossedly invades Iraq to establish democracy, but when innocent people are clearly dying in a revolution for the whole world to see, no other nations get involved? by IdGagein AskReddit

Democracies don't war with other democracies, thus far. Covert action yes, but not war and domination.

Dear Reddit: Do You or Do You Not Favor Military Action Against North Korea if North Korea Continues to "Act Bad"? by tipjaneandjackin AskReddit

[–]Ieatcerealfordinner 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

IMO N. korea isn't doing this to piss of their neighbor and bring about an attack. They are doing it to shore up leadership by rallying people around their military to consolidate power. They also know that they will not receive any real punishment for this action, just like in the past.

N.Korea pisses people off and the only retaliation is sanctions and they use complacency as a bargaining chip for aid packages. Kim gets what he wants with no fear of removal from power.

N. Korea is in dire need of a new government open to foreign influence, aid, and investment to get them on par with the rest of the world.

Although it is a very tricky situation, I do believe it is time to punish N. Korea for their actions and conduct. Just do it in a way that helps the populace and doesn't create a quagmire.
