It's finals week and I continuously find myself on Reddit instead of studying. What kinds of things do you do to get/keep motivation? by cupoftea13in AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx 0 points1 point ago

This is absolutely true. I find many people think motivation is always the desire to do something and not just simply doing it regardless of how you feel.

How should i study? by plsrespondein AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx 1 point2 points ago

Instead of procrastinating studying by reading a book to teach you to study, how about just study? Do you know it? If not, go learn it.

Hey Reddit, what are some good ways you find yourself to fall asleep to? by Jaivsin AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx 0 points1 point ago

I either read over notes or start counting the Fibonacci sequence.

Math: love it or hate it? by killyridols12in INTP

Math is great. The feeling when you figure out a tricky proof is the best.

Is math invented or discovered? by eaglefan25in AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx 0 points1 point ago

We invented names and axioms, but not entirely arbitrarily. The rest follows necessarily from the axioms.

What is something you wish people were less ignorant about? by koolkatsin AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx 15 points16 points ago

Math. I'm baffled how it is acceptable to barely understand basic algebra but unacceptable to be illiterate.

What's an interesting fact about yourself that you wish you could tell people, but it never comes up in conversation? by davidvstheworldin AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx 1 point2 points ago

I tell people IQ is a bad metric and explain that I'm a B student if I take classes outside of math/science.

Once, in high school, I asked my religion teacher... by vhehin AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx -2 points-1 points ago

The definition of omnipotent is the assumption that leads to the contradiction, so therefore it is a bad assumption.

But like I said, this joke is just hilarious!

Hahahaha logical contradictions based in a flawed assumption are just HILARIOUS!

When playing a game where you can pick classes, which one do you tend to pick? by Doc201in AskReddit

Intelligence-based class. I like being able to put out the damage from a distance, with the drawback of being squishy.

In Latin, to remember the verb vowel change by declension when using the subjunctive.

Are there any religious INTPs out there? If so, how do you justify your beliefs? by scottlawsonin INTP

[–]Iderivedx 0 points1 point ago

I'm a theist, but I'm not particularly spiritual. I believe there is a God and my purpose is to be a good person. Religion is supposed to help with that, but it doesn't always.

I don't think I could be an atheist if I tried. The two things that I think would sway me are:

1) Some massive contradiction that I don't think can be reconciled

2) Lack of empirical, physical evidence.

I haven't run in to any situation of 1) yet, and I think 2) would require axiomatically believing only matter/energy as existing, and I think that's simply untrue.

As an atheist, I'd also have an extremely difficult time defining a set of morals that wasn't based on convenience and was not relative to the opinion of the majority in any given group.

If you could go back to being five years old but still have memory of the life you've led up until now, would you do it? by themodernnomadin AskReddit

[–]Iderivedx 0 points1 point ago

Five year old who can do analysis? Heck yes. I'd be great at maths on my second round.

I found myself in a dark wilderness
