What did school teach you that was blatantly false once you researched it on the Internet? by peetssin AskReddit

When I worked at a call center, it happened at least two or three times during the six months I was there. It was rancid and we couldn't open the windows. It sucked.

Oh okay, I see.

Sounds like too much work for cheap food though.

Does it? I don't eat noodles, so I really don't know how you're supposed to cook them.

My car radio automatically turns the volume down to five no matter how loud you had it before you turned the car off.

At what point are you in your life? Are you satisfied with it? by IScreamBooyahin AskReddit

[–]Erulastiel 1 point2 points ago

After being abused physically and sexually throughout my childhood, homeless three times, and kicked out of college, it's going pretty good now.

I've been accepted to an amazing school and made high honors this past semester. I have an amazing boyfriend whom I met there. I've got a decent job. I'm looking for an apartment so I can move out of my grandmother's house completely. I'll be turning 21 in less than a month. I may be over 1k short in financial aid this upcoming semester, but I know I'll make it.

Now that things are going my way, life is pretty awesome. I look back on my life some days and think to myself that if I had actually gone through with suicide, I wouldn't be here to enjoy this part of my life right now. It's crazy.

Why won't mods backtrace trolls and murder them in their sleep for harassing me? by metaranhain AskReddit

[–]Erulastiel -1 points0 points ago

Wait, people get offended by people being mean to them on the internet? Seriously? Half the time you will probably never meet that person because they're probably half way across the world and you're getting butthurt over something as stupid as a mean comment? What are these people going to do when they meet an asshole outside of the internet?

Reddit makes me wonder sometimes...

THOSE erasers... by Randinatorin fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

We didn't have carpeted classrooms in my school, neither did we have carpeting in the house, but carpet does work well, especially the thinner, rougher kind.

Oh yeah, just as bad as stepping on a lego most of the time.

I suffer from chronic migraines, so I go through horrible pain at least 20 days out of every month.

Edit: I've also ruptured my ear drum twice.

When we laid new carpet in my old house I wrote on the back of it "THIS PIECE OF CARPET IS CONDEMNED" in the case that someone lifted it up. What are some easter eggs you've left for others? by LordApocalypticain AskReddit

My first semester, my roommate and I had discovered that someone had actually written gullible on the ceiling.

It made for many funny moments when telling people this. They never believed us until we had to actually show them.

Is Google Chrome any better than Firefox? by brodie268in AskReddit

I find it to be a lot faster than Firefox. It also doesn't crash or stop responding as much.

A pirate walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "why is there a steering wheel in your pants?" The pirate replies, "argh, it's driving me nuts."

Have you heard the one about the seagull? Never mind, it's over your head.

What's the biggest non-sexual benefit of having a girlfriend/boyfriend? by littlebalooneyin AskReddit

[–]Erulastiel 0 points1 point ago

Cuddles whether it be while sleeping or anytime during the day. Hugs and kisses. Having someone to talk to and be silly with. We play video games together all the time. We also share rent. He sucks at spelling and grammar, so I edit his papers for him. I am in no way good at mixing audio (we're NESCom students, he's an audio major), so he helps me with that. Massages too.

Thinking about this makes me miss him. Why does he have to live 100+ miles away?

How I got my new cat by SonicBoom207in fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]Erulastiel 1 point2 points ago

My cat kind of did the same thing. His previous owners gave him the boot instead of fixing him. So one night, years ago, my mother was outside on the phone smoking and there was Brady, walking down the street meowing as loudly as he could. Like the most obnoxious one he could muster. He saw my mother and went running to her, meowing quietly and as pitiful as he could. Of course, my mother picked him up and cuddled him and he just sat there purring and rubbing all over her. He was incredibly clean, well fed, and friendly for a stray too, so he probably wasn't gone for too long. Of course, me being 14 at the time went out to see what was for supper and to my surprise, my mother is holding the cutest, happiest looking kitty I've ever seen.

After some begging, she let me keep him. We put up flyers, but no one claimed him. Seven years later, he's still the best cat I've ever had.

THOSE erasers... by Randinatorin fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]Erulastiel 8 points9 points ago

A good trick to get these kinds of erasers to work better is to rub them on your jeans to get the hard outside off. It leaves the softer inside behind and it's a lot better.

I work in a tampon factory, so that's how I get them.

Yeah, it's always great to have hundreds just given to you and on hand. Especially since they're so expensive.
