What are some of your favorite dishes that are more or less universal in most restaurants in China? I can't read Chinese and still want to be able to order good food when there is not a picture menu. by Rocketain China

[–]Cole___ 4 points5 points ago

I tried to collecting everything on this thread and abridging/organizing it into a list to email myself to keep on my phone. Some of them don't have hanzi so if anyone wants to add that, you're awesome.

It's weird, studying Menu food was exactly what I had planned to do today so that I could finally start ordering something other than Gong Bao Ji Din every damn time. So thanks all for the inputs. I'll check back and edit in any corrections or additions.

Somehow I read that as: gnus and animations, and was trying to figure out if gnus was a new .gif-like file format or something.

my brain does strange things. Maybe because my mind was expecting "guns" and when it saw the u and the n transposed, it did the same to the m and the n in ammunition.

The point was that your claim that this is not voter intimidation because the election already happened is either disingenuous or stupid.

We don't need thought police in this country. If you have beliefs about national politics hold them up to the scrutiny of articulated informed discussion. There are plenty of good reasons that people voted for Obama. There are plenty of good reasons that people voted against him. Do not punish people for participating in that discussion.
