I've tried a little, it's mostly a waste of time in my opinion. I'm not criticizing the method itself, but to me reading and writing are much more efficient than listening and watching. For example, I hate video tutorials, because you spend 15 minutes learning something that could have been explained in 3 screenshots. So, in the 45 minutes you've been learning how to say "would you like to drink something", you could have been working much more grammar and vocabulary instead.

The only reason I would use Pimsleur is if you have a one hour ride where you can't use a text book. But even then, you could be using a smartphone app to learn your vocabulary or listen to japanese music.
