Santorum did however, vote for a bill that increased the minimum wage, one that helps erect a useless 700 mile fence on our mexican border (debatable in it's fiscal conservancy - not debatable on it's effectiveness) , a bill that would make the director of the CIA accountable to Congress (that's just common sense), and of course - for the PATRIOT act - whose unconstitutional meddling in citizen's lives is about as neo-liberal as it gets.

which brings me back to my original question. Is it "conservative" to pass bills that subvert the US constitution so the government can spy on it's own citizens? I'm not making a value judgement on people who call themselves conservatives and liberals - but when they both vote to subvert the constitution against our collective well-being, invading individual's privacy without the due process granted by the founders of our nation - do the descriptions themselves mean anything anymore?
