Sailing Reddit Guidelines

• If you are a sailor, you are so much more close to the ocean, the lake, the river, the stream, the creek, than most. Please, please be aware that you are a steward of the Earth in such case, and every action you take has an effect on life yet to occur. "Steward of the Sea," not a bad title. Live up to it.
• You are welcome to post sailing related content.
• You are welcome to post content you believe other sailors may be interested in as well.
• If you do not like a post, down-vote it and move on. Do not dwell in the comments section berating the poster of the article.
• Consistent rude behavior will be considered general harassment.
• Do not harass fellow subscribers.
• Do not harass the moderators.

Have your rank, ship's name or make as a tag next to your username in r/sailing

You can place a tag with your rank or boat's name/type next to your username.

How does it work?

• Send a message to BigFriendlyRobot with the subject "sailing" and in the body the text you want to appear next to your username.
• The only restriction is that the text must be shorter than or equal to 40 characters in length and may consist of letters, numbers, spaces, dashes, and apostrophes only.

The bot updates the tags every 10 minutes, so you should expect a short delay before it appears. If you're interested in the script, check out the GitHub repository. If you ever want to remove the tag, just send a blank message with the "sailing" subject to BigFriendlyRobot.
