How to "Meetup"
1. Frontpage r/PHXMeetup.
2. Get internet-social by joining the Reddit Phoenix group on Facebook (or not, following the updates on Twitter, subscribing to the Google Calendar and give yourself a Neighborhood Tag.
3. Join in on the next event (highlighted on the Upcoming Events Bar) or wait for the monthly meet-and-greet, Second Saturday at Casey Moore's in Tempe.
4. Start participating! Don't just sit around waiting for that perfect knitting party meetup thread to appear, create it yourself. Hell, demand that someone else host a knitting party -- odds are, there's another closet knitter waiting for you to speak up! KNITTING IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!
5. If you choose to meet with a redditor alone, please follow all common-sense stranger-danger advice. Choose a public, well-lit location, tell a friend about the arrangements and have them check in on you, and, as always, be polite. Perhaps meeting at a coffee shop first would be a good idea before hiking off into the wilderness with a completely random redditor? We thought so.
6. Like the various Arizona communities on reddit, r/PHXMeetup is spread thin like creamy peanut butter across the internet's social white bread. (Don't act like you don't know what we're talking about.) Please crosspost your event ideas and encourage others to crosspost their own back to r/PHXMeetup.
