• Make sure your subreddit has regular daily submissions, even if they are from the mods.
• Edit your sidebar to tell visitors what your subreddit is for.
• Make yourself a post in r/Music promoting it.
• Announce your subreddit in /r/NewReddits and /r/ShamelessPlug.
• After one month we will add your subreddit if it is still active. Post a comment here to get your subreddit added to the FAQ.

I've been caught in the spam filter!

• Did you check the new queue?
• Did you check "hide link after I upvoted them" on the preference tab? If so, deselect the option.
• And....hum... You're sure you're posting something interesting for everybody, right?
• Ok, ok! Fine, message the mods with a link to your post. ;)

I want an exemption request, now !

• No, we don't give exemption request. Just wait a little, you should be able to post within a few hours. Do not use a throwaway (mailinator.com, 10minutemail.com, etc.) email address. While you're waiting, you should read this reddit blog post about spam.

How do I post a link to a soundcloud track that opens within reddit like a youtube video?

• Just post the soundcloud.com link.

When I post a Grooveshark playlist it says already posted! Why?

• Remove the # from the url and it should work.

Music Discussion, Discovery, News, Reviews, and your favourite tracks and videos.

Please post music following the "Artist - Title (genre)" format.

Please follow Reddiquette at all times.

Posts that are allowed, but discouraged

Tracks and videos that have been repeatedly submitted.

Image posts. /r/MusicPics is the recommended alternative. Images are allowed at the mod's discretion.

Posts that are not allowed

Rage comics and memes. Please post to /r/f7u12 or /r/AdviceAnimals

Pictures of album covers. Please post to /r/AlbumArtPorn

Pictures of text. Seriously. Make a self-post or a website link instead. Submitting an imgur picture of a quote you found is not very musical.

Url shortener.

Karma-whoring titles. "Who hates Justin Bieber?" is a bad title.

Sensational titles. "OMG BEST SONG EVAR!" is a terrible title.
